Chapter Two: More Than a Meteor Shower

Nighttime on Alnilam, late summer 2006. The three Doctors were still, for whatever reason known only to them, tinkering inside the TARDIS. Tommy was outside doing his kata, Hooks and Luke were in the living room reading one of the books from Alien Lisa’s (AL’s) library, Erik was still holed up in his room, and Adam, Jesse and Jamie were also in the living room, albeit watching TV. AL herself was with Erik, making sure he was all right.

Suddenly, the three Doctors and Tommy burst through the front door. “Guys,” shouted the former Power Ranger, “check this out!” He waved them over to the door.

“Oy,” said Jamie, “what are you on abou’?”

“There’s a meteor storm!” said Doc8. “It wasn’t on any of the charts. It just appeared.”

“Come and see,” added Doc9. “It’s fantastic!”

“Hooks,” said Luke, “go and get Lisa, will you?”

“Sure thing,” said the little critter, hopping off Luke’s shoulder and trotting towards the Hall O’Rooms while the rest of the guys went outside.

Tommy and the three Doctors pointed up where they all observed what looked like a meteor shower. The sky above them was dancing with lights; purple, green, and brilliant yellow. They all ooh-ed and ahh-ed at the spectacle as AL ran outside with Hooks riding on her shoulder.

“Wow,” she said. “You weren’t kidding.”

“Cool!” was Hooks’ comment.

AL, Hooks and the guys sat on the multicolored grass, watching the meteor storm. A few forest creatures gathered around to watch, as well.

“Hey, look,” said Hooks, pointing over the forest trees. “That one’s brighter than all the others.”

They all turned and watched as the bright spot Hooks had pointed out fell through the sky to the ground. AL frowned and said, “That one…doesn’t look right. There’s something weird about it.”

The object hit the ground with a thud, and the shockwave of the impact made the birds take flight and shook the trees.

AL stood up. “What is it?” asked Tommy.

“Shh!” she hissed, waving her hand for silence. She listened to the squeaks and squawks of the frightened animals. “ ‘Human in blue’?”

“What?” asked Luke.

“Shh!” she hissed again, listening.

“Lisa!” shouted a voice.

“Shh!”

The guys looked around, for it wasn’t one of them speaking. All they heard was a neigh. A unicorn burst through the forest, galloping straight for AL and her group. It was a mare, with white fur, red mane and tail and a blue horn. This was Althea, mate of Medicus, the medical unicorn and a medic in her own right, for both she and Medicus were taught by the same stallion: Miach, Althea’s father.

“Lisa!” she shouted again. “Lisa, come quick!”

“What’s happened?” AL asked.

Althea was so excited she didn’t even notice the guys until she was in mid-sentence, causing half of what she said to be unintelligible to them. “We all saw the meteor shower, but we noticed that there was one that wasn’t like the others. It was brighter and, when it fell, a few of the unicorns went to investigate. They found Superman lying in a crater! So they called Medicus and I and he sent me to get you.”

AL’s eyes widened. “Guys, go back to the house and get Clark’s old room ready. Althea, take me to him.” She climbed onto the mare’s back, then looked at the ogling men and critter with her. “Don’t just stand there, move!”
