Trivia and In-Jokes
About the Story:
The 30th anniversary of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
and the 17th anniversary of Back to the Future Part III fall
on the same day: May 25th, so I decided to write out another party.
Since V’s TrilogyDoc gets no love over in her LiveJournal (love ya, V), I
decided to invite him, his Clara and Marty over for a party. TeenDoc begged to
come, too (he gave me the puppy eyes!), so he got to tag along. Chapters One,
Two, Four and Five are from my imagination. Chapter Three is a blog entry.
Chapter One:
Chocolate chip cookies: Baking cookies for special occasions is
something I do.
Alton giving her the recipe: Alton Brown of Good Eats.
Hooks getting trapped under the mixer bowl: I took a picture here.
Duff: Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes from Food Network’s Ace of Cakes. This marks the first time she’s gotten a cake from him. Documented, anyway.
Disher: A disher resembles an ice cream scoop and it’s what should be used to drop cookie dough onto the pans instead of a spoon, so says Alton.
Chapter Two:
The Doctors knocking out the power: Starting now, it’s a running gag
in the party stories.
Chapter Four:
The reenactment: Is, of course, from Return of the Jedi.
Parry, dodge, thrust: Something my husband always says.
Abbadon: Happened in the Torchwood Season One finale, “End of Days”.
