Trivia and In-Jokes

About the Story:
Well, this came about because I wanted desperately to write another Doctor Who story. I had two ideas: this and to, somehow, make a sequel to the Big Finish audio The Sirens of Time. I had a problem with the game not working, but Ed fixed it. Sort of…at first it worked on my computer, then it didn’t. It worked on the laptop, then it didn’t. Now it works on my computer again. *shakes head*
Anyways, sticking the Eighth Doctor in this probably screws up some timeline somewhere, however, my plan to tie it in between “Survival” and the Movie works. Well, for me. :)
Lots and lots of dialogue and such came directly from the game. So much, in fact, that I’m not even gonna bother listing it here. I’ll only mention stuff not directly related to the game. Also, while doing the challenges, you’re only allowed one per Doctor, then you go straight to the Determinant. However, I wanted to do ’em all in the story. Just because.

Chapter One:
At least it wasn’t skipping this time.: A reference to the Doctor Who Movie.

The Doctor’s rocky regeneration: Another reference to the Movie.

Cosmic angst: From “The Five Doctors”.

The Master had been absorbed by the TARDIS not two hours ago.: Also from the Movie.

The last time was different…I had one of them with me…: Also from “The Five Doctors”.

Chapter Three:
Temporal grace circuits: The TARDIS used to be in a state of temporal grace, which means that guns couldn’t be fired within it. They were damaged at some point during the show and the Cybermen thus damaged the console. The Doctor’s reasoning was that “Nobody’s perfect”.

Lisa took it upon herself to levitate it to them.: This is a nod to the fact that you don’t have to actually walk into the room with the Nestene Sphere in the game. You can simply click on it from the door and avoid the Auton inside altogether.
