Chapter Six: Medicus Comes Through
The next day, Tommy, Luke and the Doctor returned home. Jamie and the Eighth Doctor had gone back from whence they came.
Hooks looked up as the guys came through the door, asking, “Where were you?”
“Secret meeting,” said Tommy, and Hooks blinked.
“Medicus get back yet?” asked Luke.
“Erm, no,” the critter replied. “Not yet.”
“Here I am,” came the voice of the stallion as Medicus came in, and the Doctor gulped, since he’s the main part of the experiment.
“Do you have it?” asked Tommy.
Medicus nodded and a vial of liquid floated through the door, which the Doctor caught and eyed warily.
“I am sure Medicus knows what he is doing,” said Data.
“Yes,” said the stallion, “of course.”
“This was your idea, Tommy,” said Adam.
“Yes,” said the Doctor.
Tommy crossed his arms. “Do you want Lisa to stay mad?”
The Doctor sighed and uncorked the vial, sniffing its contents. “Smells like…cinnamon?”
“Of course,” said Medicus. “You don’t think I’d give you something that doesn’t taste good, do you?”
The Doctor raised an eyebrow. “Well, here’s to my health.” He drank the vial down, then raised his eyebrow again. “Apples?”
“Apple cinnamon, my friend.” Medicus took the vial back via his levitation powers and floated it towards his cart outside.
“How long will it take to work?” asked Luke.
“The effects should be almost – ”
The Doctor suddenly staggered and sat on the couch, his head in his hands.
“ – immediate.”
Hooks skittered up next to the Doctor and put a paw on his arm.
The Doctor groaned. “Powerful, that…I really think I should lay down…” He started to stand, but didn’t make it and sat down again. “Urhh…”
Medicus glanced at Tommy. “You did specify weakness and dizziness, did you not?”
Tommy went to the Doctor. “Yes, I did.” He took the Time Lord’s arm. “C’mon. I’ll help you to your room.”
The Doctor groaned as he tried to stand, squeezing his eyes shut. “Dizzy…” he said, standing shakily, letting Tommy help him to the Hall O’Rooms.
Adam suddenly asked, “Has anyone figured out just how to get Lisa here?”
Luke’s eyes suddenly lit up. “I have a plan…”
