Chapter Five: Meeting of the Guys…Again
The next day, the phone rang. Tommy answered.
“Hello?”
“Hello, is this Lisa’s blog?” said the voice on the other end.
“Yes. This is Tommy. Who’s this?”
“This is VampDoc Brown, from Vicky’s journal. We’re inviting all of you over.”
“Oh, really? Yeah, sure, we’ll be over.”
Tommy gathered the guys together. In the end, Adam, Data and Hooks decided to stay behind in case either Lisa returned to the house. So, Tommy, the Doctor and Luke journeyed to Vicky’s journal, where they found not only her Doc Brown, VampDoc and VampDoc2 and Austin the T-1000, but the Animaniac known as Wakko and a Doc Brown Animaniac version known as Dokki, but also the Doctor’s eighth persona and the Time Lords’ old companion Jamie McCrimmon.
“Hey, what are you guys doing here?” Luke asked of the other Doctor and Jamie.
“Oi, we were invited,” said Jamie.
The Fifth and Eighth Doctors kind of half-glared at each other until Tommy crossed in front of them and broke their gaze.
“So, where’s Vic?” asked Tommy.
“I think she’s working off frustration about the newest Terminator movie,” said Doc, and Austin made a face.
“That ‘movie’ was a joke,” he said bitterly. “The T-X stole her gags from me, seriously.”
“Is it true that Vicky reprogrammed you?” Luke asked.
Austin frowned and VampDoc cleared his throat. “That’s a bit of a sore spot with him.”
“Oh, I dun blame ye,” said Jamie.
“I was a killing machine. Then she got a hold of me and programmed me to follow her orders. I was her cameraman, for crying out loud!”
Tommy and the others tried to choke down laughter. “I heard abou’ that,” said Jamie. “Didn’t Lisa interfere?”
“She was trying to capture Doc to help us,” said Doc8, indicating his other self. “Though didn’t it end up an episode of The Twilight Zone?”
Doc shuddered. “We never did figure that one out. So, Doctors, you’ve been around for a long time, haven’t you?”
Doc5 smiled. “An ongoing, what, almost forty years?” Doc8 nodded his acquiesce. “Jamie was once our companion.”
“Had me memory erased,” said the Scot. “Though ’round ’ere I have it back.”
“I’m interested in your time machine,” said VampDoc2. “I understand it’s larger inside than out?”
“Dimensionally transcendental,” said Doc8. “She’s a type forty, capable of taking you to any planet in the universe to any date in that planet’s existence.”
“Remarkable,” said VampDoc.
“I’ve had my share of time travel,” said Tommy. “I was once…no, twice reverted back to a ten-year-old. Lisa didn’t, though. Knock eight years off her life and she looks the same.”
“You met Lisa at eighteen?” asked Dokki.
Tommy nodded. “I met her before I moved to Angel Grove, then we lost each other. I got really sick, and she reappeared. Been together since then.”
Luke smiled as he remembered. “I met her when her ship died out in space and she got towed to Tosche Station.”
Austin muttered. “Victoria kidnapped me when I injured her cameraman.”
The other guys laughed. Tommy, however, sighed. “I hope Medicus comes though and our plan works to get her back into good spirits.”
“Ah, yes,” said VampDoc. “We heard about that.”
Everyone jumped when the door suddenly opened, revealing Victoria. “Whew,” she said, “are you guys melting? I – ” Her voice died away as she took in the sight of the convergence of characters before her. “What the – ? What are Lisa’s guys doing over here?”
VampDoc2 exchanged a glance with all the guys, then looked upset. “This was a secret meeting.”
“Ah…” Tommy began. “We wanted their input on how to cheer up AL.”
Doc5 nodded. “Yes, we assume you know of the mood she’s been in.”
“Is there a reason we can’t have friends over?” asked Doc.
“No…” Vicky said, at length.
“We were in the middle of something,” said VampDoc, “so if you please.” He indicated the door.
“Okay.” Vicky left, but the VampDocs heard her say, “I think our boys are plotting against us.”
