Chapter Two: Meeting of the Guys

Four days later, AL still hadn’t come home. Tommy was walking around the house, carrying a pen and clipboard.

“Okay, everyone,” he said, “gather around.”

Luke looked up from Order of the Phoenix. “But I’m only on chapter twenty…”

“Do you want her to be angry forever?”

There was a beat, then, “Good point.” Luke put in a bookmark and laid the book down on the table.

“Hooks, Data, Adam, Doctor?”

Data looked up and the Doctor said, “We’re here.”

“What’s up?” asked Adam.

Hooks jumped into Luke’s lap. “Yes?”

“We have to figure out a way to snap Lisa out of this mood she’s been in,” said Tommy.

“I agree.” Adam said. “I don’t like being cursed at.”

“But what can we do?” asked Data.

“I was thinking…” said Tommy. “Lisa could never resist one of us when we’re hurt.” He looked towards the Doctor. “Especially you.”

“Me?” he replied.

Luke nodded. “He’s right. You spent more time being hurt in some way, shape or form than any of us.”

“Exactly.” Tommy said. “And you’re the best candidate. Lisa’s not linked to any of us anymore, so all you have to do is pretend to be hurt.

“I don’t think she’d be convinced,” said the Doctor. “She can still sense things even when we’re not linked.”

“Hm,” said Tommy. “Good point.” He tapped the pen against his chin.

Hooks suddenly piped up. “What about Medicus?”

“What about Medicus?” asked Luke.

Medicus was Alnilam’s resident Healer, a unicorn with extensive knowledge about illnesses and injuries and concocting medications and salves that cured and healed and tasted great to boot.

“Well…” Hooks began, then realized they were all staring at him. He cleared his throat. “Well, Medicus can cure things, right? Maybe…maybe he can also make things sick?”

“That…could work,” said Tommy, causing Hooks to blush.

“How can we contact Medicus if Woodhorn and Janis Thorn are in the forest and you can’t get into the meadow without going through there?” asked Luke.

“Janis Thorn never leaves his territory, and that’s deep in the forest,” said the Doctor. “As for Woodhorn…”

“Er…” Hooks said meekly. “I’ll go.”

“You will?” said Tommy. “You will?”

“Woodhorn won’t attack animals,” was Hooks’ reasoning.

Well,” said Tommy, “okay, then. Tell him to come here, will you?”

“Um, right,” said Hooks, hopping down and trotting out the door.

Tommy said, “And now we wait.”

End chapter two.
