Chapter Fourteen: It Ain’t Over Yet

Dalek Caan was furious. Once again, his plans had been foiled by the Ka Faraq Gatri and his companions. The only good thing about the whole ordeal was that he survived. While he was still the last of the Daleks, that simple fact was enough to give him the determination to continue on.

He was going to need a new plan of attack, a new way of defeating the Doctor.

Well, the one thing he did have was time.

He’d take his time, consider his options and collect any materials he needed. Then he’d be ready. He wasn’t going to let the Doctor gain the high ground again.

The Cult of Skaro might be gone, but Dalek Caan still survived. And so did the Doctor. So long as that infernal Time Lord still lived, he would be a threat to the Dalek.

The Daleks must survive. That simple desire was enough to keep Caan going. The Daleks must survive. Even if he had to go the route of Dalek Sec and genetically manipulate the human race, the Daleks would live on.

He’d make sure of it. He’d have to. As the last Dalek in existence, Caan must ensure the survival of his race. There were to be no questions about that. No questions, no inhibitions, nothing.

The Daleks must survive. He couldn’t let himself be defeated again, even if past history did not support that.

He’d be ready. When the time came, Dalek Caan would be ready. He’d face the Doctor again and he would be ready.

The Daleks would survive. In Caan.
