Chapter Two: Set-Up
“Ugh, I thought she’d never leave!” AL commented as her alter ego descended the stairs. “How’re those balloons coming, Clark?”
He was in the far corner of the game room, tacking up the last of them. “Done,” he said, lowering himself gently to the floor.
“Great. I hear the other guys, now.”
They all trudged downstairs and the rest of the guys came in toting bags.
When she noticed how many there were, she raised her eyebrows. “You didn’t buy out the store, did you?”
“Only half of it,” Tommy said with a smile, lugging more bags inside. “Though, next time, we have to get OckDoc to help carry some of the bags.”
“Or you ask me to come,” said Clark, carrying ten bags at once.
“That would’ve been too easy,” said Adam.
“Right…you get anything good?” AL asked.
“Aye,” said Jamie. “Though I dun understand a lo’ of it.”
“That’s understandable,” said Doc5. “There is a considerable time difference from when my second self picked you up and when Data lived.”
AL started poking through the bags. “What’d you get?”
“Some holographic signs and glow-y lightshows and stuff,” said Adam. “Some of them are really cool.
“I bet.”
“I believe we have a sufficient amount of adornments to celebrate the birth of Captain Harkness,” said Data.
“Great! Get it all upstairs and set it up.”
Tommy held in a sigh. “Is it too late to call OckDoc?”
Clark smiled. “Come on. I’ll help.”
