Chapter One: Welcome and Unwelcome Guests

It was sixteen minutes past five, Alnilam time, on Thursday, the 23rd of November, 2006. Outside the house in the small meadow, the Doctors were inside the TARDIS, tinkering, completely unaware of the plotting and planning that was going on within.

Alien Lisa (AL) was in the kitchen while the guys and Hooks set up the upstairs game room for the 43rd anniversary party she was throwing for the Doctors.

All was quiet until the front door burst open and in barged her real life alter ego, Real Lisa (RL).

“People!” she shouted.

AL glanced in her direction. “What now?!”

“Yes, now!”

“No, I mean what are you barging into my house for, now?”

“You guys haven’t updated since Luke’s birthday.”

“So?”

“So~ now it’s the Doctors’ 43rd anniversary.”

AL shrugged. “Yeah, and? What, you think I forgot?”

“I should hope you wouldn’t,” she said, looking around and noticing they were alone. “Where is everyone, anyway?”

“The Doctors are tinkering in the TARDIS, where I want them. The rest of the guys are upstairs setting up for the party. Hooks is up there, too.”

RL’s eyes went wide. “Party?”

“Yeah. Duh. Again, did you think I’d forget their anniversary?”

“Um…no?”

“Exactly. The guests should be arriving soon.”

“Guests?”

The doorbell rang.

“Would you get that for me?” AL asked.

RL glowered. “What am I, a servant girl?”

“Just do it.”

She glared, but went to the door anyway and looked surprised when she saw OckDoc, VampDoc, VampDoc2, DocWolf and TeenDoc standing outside toting bags of stuff.

AL looked over. “Hey, guys. OckDoc, welcome back. Everyone’s upstairs, you can put everything up there.”

“Wow,” TeenDoc commented, “this is a huge place!”

AL grinned big. “I know. Come in, don’t stand outside.”

RL stared as V’s boys walked past her. “Wow,” she said, “you’re really gonna have a party?”

“Why not? You did the layout for the 40th, and Clark hasn’t been here long enough to change it, so why not a party? Besides, it’s Thanksgiving, too. It’s also Wind Chaser’s birthday, but that’s their department. Ten’s coming, too.”

“Do you think that’s wise?” RL asked.

“I concur…” said OckDoc. “I’ve seen how they don’t get along.” The tentacles nodded.

“They’ll be fine,” AL answered them. “I’ve had Five, Eight and Nine living here all this time.” She paused to listen. “Here he comes, now. Get the door, will you?”

“But it didn’t – ” The doorbell cut RL off. “ – ring.” She shot her alter ego a dirty look.

AL simply smiled, to which RL said, “I hate it when you do that.” She went to answer the door. “Hi, Doctor,” she said to the Time Lord standing behind it.

“Hello!” he said with a smile.

“How many of them are there?” asked VampDoc2.

“Ten,” both AL and RL said simultaneously.

VampDoc commented, “And I thought there were a lot of us…”

“Well,” said RL, “the only difference, here, is that all the Doctors are canon.”

“And we’re the products of a very overactive imagination…” said DocWolf.

“And highly addictive, also.” RL muttered.

“I suppose that works to our advantage,” said OckDoc. “Because if we didn’t have a fan following, I don’t think we’d exist.”

“Except when your very idea makes idea control sick.” AL said, eyeing DocWolf.

The wolf morph made a face. “Don’t remind me.”

“We should get a move on before my other selves get back,” said Doc10.

“Yes,” said VampDoc, “additionally, we want to spend Thanksgiving with our families.”

“Yeah, yeah,” said AL. “Well, let’s get started.”

RL watched as they all scattered. “Well, I have a feeling this little shindig’ll end up being a blog story, so keep an eye out and happy anniversary, Doctor Who! Oh, and happy Thanksgiving.”
