Blind Spot was the first Alnilam Unicorn to be born blind. As there had never been a "disabled" unicorn before, the other members of the herd really didn't know how to treat him and his mother, Myopia, so they tried to ignore them. That is, except for one family: Nacre, her mate Girasol, and their daughter Lead Line. These three tried to help Blind Spot and Myopia to the best of their ability, and Lead Line and Blind Spot became best friends. Blind Spot taught her how he could function without sight.

One day while out together, they happened upon a collar that, for some reason, Lead Line's leash-like tail could be connected to. When they did, they became psychically linked and Blind Spot found he could "see" vague outlines of his surroundings. He is so used to this link that being separated from her is very difficult, but he could manage should he need to.

As they got older, they became mates, and Lead Line talked much about wanting to become a mother. Blind Spot didn't think it was a good idea, for what if their child had his disability? He didn't want the child to go through what he did. However, as things do happen, Lead Line gave birth on Thanksgiving Day of 1999 (Earth time) to Wind Chaser, whose five senses all work perfectly and, now, Blind Spot couldn't be happier.
